Dental Insurance Basics

Dental insurance benefits vary according to which plan you have. If you have a PPO plan, you pay a deductible (say $100 per year). When the deductible is met, the plan will cover a percentage of your dental care. For instance, you plan may pay 80% of preventative services like cleanings. You would then be responsible for the other 20%. With PPO dental insurance, you might also have to watch out for covered benefit maximums, such as $1000 per year.

We also accept HMO dental plans. These plans do not have deductibles or annual maximums. Instead, you pay a co-payment for dental services. Some services have no co-payment at all (like x-rays and exams), but there might be restrictions on coverage. Whichever dental plan you have, we will work with you. Our financial coordinator is specially trained to optimize your benefits, watch for annual maximums, and submit pre-authorizations and claims for you.
