Exceptional Care Within Your Budget

Dental Plan Overview - True Dental Insurance

Whether Indemnity- or PPO- plans, the following characteristics are a good sign that a plan is a true dental insurance:

  • The plan will, up to an annual maximum, cover a good percentage of your dental care, depending on the procedure.
  • You don't have to be assigned a particular office, although sometimes the insurance company will have a list of "in-network" or "preferred" providers that are usually verified by the insurance company to accept all their plans.

Now for some details... Annual maximums vary between $1000 to $3000, depending on the plan, and that's typically what dictates the monthly cost. Between PPO Plans and Indemnity Plans, PPOs are the most common. In such plans, your plan pays a given percentage that varies per procedure to procedure. One common breakdown is 100% of preventative and diagnostic services like preventative cleanings, examinations, and X-rays, 90% for restorative services like fillings, and so on. If you're interested in the details about your particular plan and how it effects your treatment plan, our Treatment Coordinators will gladly explain this after your exam. Or, if you only want to know about the bottom line, rest assured that we will have all the work in determining your out-of-pocket already done by the time your exam is finished.
