Laser Periodontal
|
Laser periodontal surgery is an amazing breakthrough in periodontal treatments. If you're like 100 million other Americans who have periodontal disease the following information can be the major difference in preventing tooth loss.
Periodontitis is the major cause of tooth loss in adults. Periodontal disease starts off as plaque, an opaque film which eventually hardens, forming tartar or calculus. Calculus deposits harbor bacteria which infect the gums. In early stages, this is called gingivitis, characterized by red, swollen gums that bleed when you brush your teeth. Many people experience bad breath and an unpleasant taste in their mouths as well. Unchecked, gingivitis progresses to periodontitis, a much more serious form of the disease where periodontal pockets are formed, separating teeth from the gums and supporting bone structure. Without treatment, infection becomes severe and the pockets deepen, resulting in tooth loss. The way to repair the damage is to get rid of the infection and close up the pockets. Until now, that meant surgery with a scalpel and sutures. But today Calm Dental offers LASER PERIODONTAL THERAPY a patient-friendly, minimally-invasive procedure that’s a great improvement over standard gum surgery. Please view the following virtual presentation of the procedure.

Implants
When getting dental implant surgery, the bone can be saved by replacing missing tooth roots with dental implants. The bone will form a bond to the dental implants where they will serve the same functions as natural tooth roots.
This bond will form the foundation for biting and chewing, but the dental implants will also allow for the replacement of the entire missing tooth. Thanks to years of progress and improved techniques, dental implants will look, feel and function like natural teeth if done properly.
Gum Grafts
Gum grafts help reduce bone loss and gum reccession. Besides a better smile, you will notice reduced tooth sensitivity and improved dental health.
Crown Lengthening
Crown lengthening is important in the restoration of damaged teeth. Severe tooth decay may result in broken or destroyed teeth below the gum line. By exposing more of the tooth, the crown lengthening procedure provides a stable base for the final tooth restoration. |
Endodontics |
Endodontics is the removal of the nerves from the roots of a tooth. Root canals are often necessary to save an infected tooth. If left untreated after a long period of time, an abscess can form. An abscess is bone loss in the jaw and it is important to treat the root canal before this stage of deterioation. Some reasons why your tooth or teeth may need a root canal are a very deep cavity that extends into the nerve, a trauma to the tooth that exposes the nerve, or a crack in the tooth that extends into the nerve of the tooth. |
Orthodontics |
Invisalign is a series of clear plastic aligners that are utilized to create tooth movement. The inovative computer program, then generates a series of aligners with small changes. Invisalign is recommended for orthodontic situations with mild to moderate spacing or crowding. In addition to straightening teeth, they are virtually undetectable when being worn. |
